Employer Discounts

HMDCB provides organizations that are interested in certifying multiple physicians during one application window the opportunity to receive a discount on the initial examination fee, study guide, advertisement opportunities, and/or webinar sponsorship. This provides an employer the unique opportunity to support the professional development of its Hospice Medical Director and/or physicians while also being recognized as an institution that invests in its staff.

Items Eligible for a Discount

Discounts will be determined based on the needs of the employer and the total number of items purchased (e.g., a larger discount may be available for an employer who purchases both the initial application and HMDCB study guide). Benefits of HMDCB Certification

HMDCB certification is a way for hospice leaders and other employers to have a baseline from which they can assess their physicians’ knowledge base in an equitable way across the five areas of focus on the HMDCB Content Blueprint – (1) Patient & Family Care, (2) Medical Knowledge, (3) Medical Leadership & Communication, (4) Professionalism, and (5) Regulatory, Compliance & Quality Improvement. The outcome of the assessment is the opportunity for employers to determine areas physicians need more education/training, which should help mitigate risk and enhance patient/family satisfaction. Additionally, since our certified physicians have shown their knowledge in compliance and regulatory areas, they can be effective partners to executive leadership and compliance teams when issues arise.

HMDCB’s Value for Employers

“Our physicians use the knowledge they have acquired through certification to improve patient outcomes and to provide on-going education to interdisciplinary team members. This continual learning helps to ensure our patients receive the highest quality in hospice care services.”-Lynn Knodle, CHPCA, CEO, Serenity Hospice & Home

"End of life care is a clinical specialty requiring a distinct body of knowledge. HMDCB certification builds on this clinical expertise with advanced knowledge in areas of regulatory, billing, documentation & interdisciplinary leadership. This certification ensures shared understanding between physician leadership and agency administration. Working with a certified physician is a key step to ensure a hospice team delivers the best care for patients & their families." -Danielle Pierotti, RN PhD, VP Patient Care Services, Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont & New Hampshire
